We’ve got gold!
Green Key Gold
We are proud to announce that we have obtained the Green Key certification. Green Key is an internationally recognized sustainability label for the hospitality industry. Organizations are evaluated based on established criteria regarding environmental and social aspects of business operations. We are supported in this by Green Label Service, specializing in certifications and sustainability issues within the hospitality sector. On this page, we explain various measures applied within our business operations.
What do we do in our hotel for this?
Hotel Key
A hotel room is only heated or cooled once you as a guest place your hotel room key in the energy saver, which you will find in the hotel room.
When you remove this card from the energy saver, all lighting will also turn off.
Hotel Linen
The linen used for making beds is changed every three nights instead of nightly, resulting in less frequent washing, which reduces water, energy, and detergent usage.
We also try to reduce the number of towels going to the laundry. A card in the bathroom asks the guest to place the towel on the floor if it needs to be replaced.
Lighting
Within the hotel, LED lighting is mainly used. LED lighting consumes less electricity than traditional lighting.
Water
Our rooms are equipped with water-saving showerheads.
Cleaning
We work with an external cleaning company. The daily cleaning agents they use have an environmental label recognized by Green Key.
Waste Separation
Besides separating glass, paper/cardboard, plastic, and residual waste, we also separate all our food scraps into a so-called swill bin. Swill is an English term for non-consumed parts of meals. Our swill waste, consisting of food scraps, is pumped under pressure into an underground storage tank via a so-called dumping table. This tank is emptied and further processed into biogas.
We also separate candle wax, cartridges, small chemical waste, construction waste, garden waste, and fats. The idea behind waste separation is that the waste can be recycled.
Paper and Ink
Only paper purchased that has an EU Ecolabel or comparable Green Key recognized label. Where possible, we reduce paper consumption to avoid unnecessary printing, and if printed, it is double-sided.
Building Materials
In new construction and renovation projects, material choices are part of the considerations within the project. For example, the play castle is made of FSC-certified hardwood.
Charging Station
We also have no less than 30 charging stations for your electric car.
Local
For various products we work with suppliers from the region.
