We’ve got gold!
Green Key Gold
Green Key is a well-known international quality mark for sustainable businesses in the hotel and recreation industry. This quality mark demonstrates that we do everything we can to minimize our company's impact on nature and the environment. This means we go a step further than standard laws and regulations require. The certificate has three levels: bronze, silver, and gold. The more environmental measures a hotel has implemented, the higher its "environmentally friendly" level. We are proud to announce that we hold the gold Green Key.
What do we do to achieve this in our hotel?
Hotel key
A hotel room is only heated or cooled once you, as a guest, insert your hotel room key into the energy saver, which you will find in your room.
When you remove this card from the energy saver, all lights will also be turned off.
Hotel linen
The linen used for making the beds is changed every three nights instead of every other night, which reduces washing and environmental impact.
We also try to reduce the number of towels sent to the laundry. A card in the bathroom asks guests to place their towel on the floor when it needs to be changed.
Lighting
We use almost exclusively LED lighting. LED consumes less energy than traditional lighting, contains no harmful substances, and is healthier because it doesn't emit UV radiation. Furthermore, LED lighting is less of a fire hazard and therefore safer.
Water
Our rooms are equipped with water-saving shower heads.
Cleaning
We collaborate with an external cleaning company. They do everything they can to protect the environment by using environmentally friendly cleaning products.
Waste Separation
In addition to separating glass, paper/cardboard, plastic, and residual waste, we also separate all our food scraps into a so-called swill bin. Swill is an English term that refers to unconsumed portions of meals. Our swill waste, which consists of food scraps, is pumped under pressure into an underground storage tank via a dumping table. This tank is emptied and further processed into biogas.
We also separate candle wax, cartridges, small chemical waste, construction waste, garden waste, and grease. The underlying principle behind waste separation is that the waste can be recycled.
Paper and ink
We purchase only paper with a lower environmental impact. But we go even further. Where possible, we reduce paper consumption to avoid unnecessary printing, and if printing is required, it's done double-sided.
Building materials
We use environmentally friendly materials as much as possible in new construction and renovations. An example is our play castle, built from FSC-certified hardwood.
Charging station
We also have no fewer than 30 charging stations for your electric car.
Local
We collaborate extensively with local businesses, meaning our menu primarily features regional products. This is not only socially responsible but also deliciously fresh!
